Management

There is no curative treatment. Oral CoQ10 supplementation (often in high doses) is usually given, but evidence of efficacy is lacking (only anecdotal, possibly disease stabilization). Management is otherwise supportive: anti-seizure medication for epilepsy, cardiac surveillance and standard heart failure treatment where applicable, rehabilitation medicine for ataxia and spasticity, and genetic counseling for the family.
