Children with DGKEnephropathy may have:
• Swelling, especially around the eyes, legs, or feet
• Protein in the urine
• Blood in the urine
• High blood pressure
• Paleness or tiredness
• Kidney injury
• Flare-ups after an infection, such as a cold, virus, or stomach illness
Some children recover well from early flare-ups but still have protein in the urine, blood in the urine, or high blood pressure afterward. Some children’s kidney function gets worse over time and may lead to chronic kidney disease or kidney failure.
