Families

Changes in the LYRM7gene can cause a rare disorder affecting how energy is made in the body’s cells. It is inherited when both parents pass on a copy of the gene. The condition can cause brain problems, tiredness, and trouble with movement or vision. Symptoms usually begin in early childhood. One report showed a child with ble in the brain (cyst-like lesions). Another series noted adult-onset vision loss.
