Management

In terms of epilepsy management, many traditional anti-seizure medications have been reportedly tried with varied success including:
•    Levetiracetam
•    Topiramate
•    Valproic Acid
•    Phenytoin
•    Cannabidiol
•    Ketogenic Diet
•    Fenfluramine

Specifically, there are several case reports which allude to the benefit of fenfluramine in refractory epilepsy secondary to SCN1B, however fenfluramine is not yet FDA approved for this specific indication without a Dravet-like phenotype, and further study is needed to see if there is true benefit with this medication in SCN1B-related epilepsy.

In addition to anti-seizure medications patients will benefit from a developmental evaluation and the addition of therapies such as physical, occupational, and speech therapy as appropriate. Initial screening for cardiac arrhythmias is also indicated.
