PhenomeGene — Human Disease Gene Website SeriesSCN1B

Molecular characteristics

Patients with SCN1B-related disorders have a change in the gene SCN1Bthat causes it not to function properly. That change may be a single spelling error in one copy of the gene (heterozygous missense variant) or it may be that there is an error in both copies of the gene (homozygous variants). These changes can be inherited from a parent or they can be new changes in the patient.
