Mid-trimester miscarriage may be the most common clinical symptom. Infants who make it to birth may be severely sick right after birth with respiratory compromise, or present later with a lack of psychomotor development. Difficult-to-treat seizures and brain abnormalities on ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging have been observed in all infants reported to date.
