Currently, there is no cure for VPS16-related dystonia. Treatment of the manifestations, symptom management, and supportive care are recommended and should be managed by an appropriate specialty centre (e.g., movement disorders expertise centres). Some patients with VPS16-related dystonia may benefit from deep brain stimulation therapy, although no systematic study has yet been conducted and the intervention should be discussed in each individual case with experts in the field.
