There is no cureyet and treatment focuses on managing symptoms and supporting the child’s development.
Possible treatments and supports:
• Medications to help control seizures
• Physical therapy to help with muscle stiffness and movement
• Feeding support, including feeding tubes if needed
• Regular kidney check-ups; dialysis or transplant when required (mainly in GAMOS6)
• Vision support services
• Early intervention (speech, occupational therapy, physical therapy)
• Special education support
• Support for families caring for a child with complex medical needs
A team of specialists—such as neurologists, nephrologists, geneticists, and therapists—usually works together to provide care.
